Larch View is ideally situated for exploring the Loch Lomond National Park and Balloch Park, which are 20 minutes by car and about 40 minutes by train. There is even a cycle way linking Helensburgh to Loch Lomond. Loch Lomond National Park is a great attraction for all sorts of outdoor pursuits: walking, cycling, mountain biking, bird watching, as well as more water sports.

Helensburgh is a slight detour around Loch Lomond off the West Highland Way.
A variety of pleasant drives of up to two hours will allow the opportunity to enjoy both rich and varied scenery as well as the option to visit places of interest.
Within the National park are the “Arrochar Alps”, and nearby is an area of interesting mountains called “Rest and be Thankful” and Ben Lomond itself. A map of all of Scotland’s “Munros” can be found here.
There are several routes in the local forests managed by the Forestry Commission. The David Marshall Lodge at Aberfoyle is well worth a visit.
Dunoon and the Cowal peninsula are easy to reach by ferry – don’t miss, for example, the Benmore Botanic Gardens. Beautiful gardens like Geilston and Glenarn are also close at hand.
